About Bushfire BALance.

I am a Registered Building Practitioner with over 40 years’ experience in the industry and live and work in both the Yarra Ranges and Cardinia Shires.

While I have been lucky not to have been directly in the line of a bushfire attack, I saw first-hand the devastation of the aftermath and have designed new homes for clients that lost their homes to major fires from the 1983 fires in Cockatoo and the 2009 fires in Flowerdale.

As a local Building designer in these areas, I have had many years conducting Site Visits and appreciate the vast differences in the topography and vegetation on offer. I am also familiar with the Construction requirements for building in Bushfire Prone areas. My building experience gives me a good understanding of how the requirements of each BAL Rating can be applied to building the structure.
